It has been nearly a month since Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of party president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was released from Tihar Jail after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.
When she was released, BRS leaders and cadre celebrated outside the jail with drums and fireworks.
Kavitha declared herself a fighter and vowed revenge on her political rivals, stating, "The entire country knows I was jailed for political reasons. I have done nothing wrong. We will fight and prove our innocence."
She added, "I am a stubborn person, and my jail term has made me even more determined. I won’t leave those who caused me trouble. I will show the true power of Telangana."
Kavitha received a hero's welcome when she returned to Hyderabad the next day and visited KCR's farmhouse in Erravelli to seek his blessings. However, after that, she has remained out of the public eye.
Despite her earlier strong statements, she has gone silent, neither making any public appearances nor speaking to the media.
At a time when her brother K T Rama Rao and cousin T Harish Rao are launching aggressive attacks on the Revanth Reddy government, Kavitha is notably absent from the political scene. Even KCR himself has not been visible for some time.
Although there are no legal restrictions preventing her from making political comments against her rivals—aside from not discussing the Delhi liquor policy case—her sudden silence is puzzling.
But then again, this is how KCR’s family often operates!
