Where are you brothers? Cong or BJP or YSRTP?

The statement made by senior Congress leader and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy stating that the party would lose its deposit in the by-elections to Huzurabad assembly seat has led to the debate in the political circles as to whether he is really in the Congress party or not.

The MP told the reporters in New Delhi that he had got a survey done in Huzurabad assembly constituency and it revealed that Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Eatala Rajender would get 67 per cent votes, while the Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate would end up with 30 per cent of votes.

“The Congress has bleak chances in Huzurabad even to get the deposit. It would get a maximum of five per cent votes. There might be some improvement in the vote share, if the party announces candidate at the earliest and step up its campaign,” Venkat Reddy said.

Though Venkat Reddy is known for his frank talk without mincing any words, his comments would definitely cause a lot of damage to the party.

No sincere Congress leader would make such an open statement that the party has no support of people. Even if it is a fact, he should not have said it openly.

Even his younger brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who is a Congress MLA from Munugode, made a more or less similar statement a few days ago.

Instead of talking in favour of the Congress, he said the fight would be between Rajender and the TRS.

“The TRS government has introduced Dalit Bandhu scheme only to garner the votes of Dalits and defeat Rajender at any cost,” he said.

This makes one wonder whether the Komatireddy brothers are really in the Congress party or working as coverts for the BJP.

Irrespective of who would win the Huzurabad by-elections, they ought not have spoken in support of Rajender, who is presently in the BJP.

What is surprising is that these brothers also extended their support to Y S Sharmila, who recently floated a new regional party in the name of YSR Telangana Party.

Despite the fact that Sharmila is attacking the Congress and described it as a betrayer of her father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, the Komatireddy brothers wished her a success in her endeavour.

It is time the Komatireddy brothers clarify whether they want to remain in the Congress or join the other parties.

They cannot stay in the Congress and speak in support of the leaders of other parties.

If they don’t like the appointment of new PCC president A Revanth Reddy, they should come out of the Congress and choose their own path.

But they should not play this double game. What do you say, brothers?
