Bharatiya Janata Party has finally admitted that it is very difficult to defeat Bharat Rashtra Samithi led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the upcoming elections to Telangana assembly, as long as he implements the welfare schemes.
BJP national secretary P Muralidhar Rao told reporters in Hyderabad that as long as KCR implements welfare schemes, it was not possible to defeat him.
“We cannot just beat KCR on this front. If we have to defeat him in the elections, we have to come out with better schemes,” he said.
Muralidhar Rao went a step ahead and said KCR could be compared to Shivraj Singh Chowhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, who also had won the people’s support with his welfare schemes.
“In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress is facing a similar situation as we are facing in Telangana,” he said.
He, however, said KCR cannot win the elections every time riding only on the welfare schemes.
“Nearly 65 percent of voters in Telangana are youth. These young voters are the game changers and if they think, they can pull down the KCR government,” he said.
The BJP leader found fault with former BJP president of Telangana and present national general secretary Bandi Sanjay for not able to bring unity among the party leaders in the state.
“Those who dropped Bandi Sanjay from the post of state BJP president are very well aware of the reasons. They realised that Sanjay was not able to take the senior leaders into confidence while taking up party programmes and was not consulting them in any decisions,” Muralidhar Rao said.
He said the BJP had not suffered any damage on replacing Bandi Sanjay with Kishan Reddy. The party is still strong enough to take on the BRS, he said.
