The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming elections to the Telangana assembly, scheduled to be held on November 30.
With this the total tally of the BJP candidates released so far has reached 100.
The party is likely to announce the remaining 19 seats after finalising seat sharing with actor-turned politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party, which is expected to get about eight to nine seats.
However, what is conspicuous in the latest list of the BJP candidates is the missing of the name of senior BJP leader and former MP Vijayashanti.
She was expected to be fielded from Kamareddy, but for some strange reason, her name did not figure in the list.
What is worse, Vijayashanti’s name was also missing from the list of BJP’s star campaigners announced on Monday. This led to the talk that the popular actress has been sulking and she might not continue in the party for long.
There is a talk that Vijayashanti might return to the Congress fold, as she has been keeping away from the party activities for quite some time.
She has been posting pungent comments on her social media platform, indirectly taking pot shots at the BJP leadership.
Yet, she did not issue any statement that she is unhappy with the BJP. In fact, her X account still has the saffron tinge with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prominent leaders who secured tickets in the fourth list included former Karimnagar former Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma (Vemulawada) and Bomma Sriram Chakravarthy (Husnabad).
Tickets were also allocated to V Subhash Reddy (Yellareddy) and Chalamala Krishna Reddy (Munugode), who recently joined the BJP from the Congress.
