Has the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi sensed defeat in the forthcoming by-elections in Huzurabad assembly constituency, despite its all-out efforts to appease Dalits by launching Dalit Bandhu scheme?
The answer is yes, according to former minister and present Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in Huzurabad Eatala Rajender.
He said the statement of TRS working president and IT minister K T Rama Rao was a clear indication to the impending defeat of the TRS.
Speaking to reporters after the TRS state executive committee meeting on Tuesday, KTR said the TRS government would not collapse irrespective of the outcome of the by-elections.
“It is just one by-election. It doesn’t make much difference to the TRS government irrespective of who will win there,” KTR said.
Rajender said KTR made the statement after assessing the ground situation in Huzurabad.
“He has got reports from all surveys, including the intelligence reports, which indicated that the TRS would lose the by-election. That is why KTR is trying to put up a brave front with such statements,” he said.
He wondered why so many ministers and MLAs were flocking Huzurabad like wolves if the TRS was really not so serious about the by-election.
The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has started showing unusual affection towards Dalits only for the sake of Huzurabad, he reminded.
“After seven years, KCR garlanded the statue of B R Ambedkar. He has transferred Dalit IAS officer Rahul Bojja to the CMO and appointed Prof Limbadri as the chairman of Telangana state council of higher education. All these indicate that KCR is trying every trick to win the by-poll,” Rajender pointed out.
