With one Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader after the other coming out in the open expressing his anguish over the neglect of loyalists in the latest cabinet expansion, TRS leadership swiftly entered the scene to control the damage.
While former home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy openly expressed his anguish before the media for being ignored in the cabinet expansion, there were reports that former deputy chief minister T Rajaiah, former environment minister Jogu Ramanna, Nizamabad rural MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan and Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao, besides former minister Jupally Krishna Rao might jump the fence into the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Added to this, Serilingampalli MLA Arekapudi Gandhi also registered his protest for being denied cabinet berth by telling the party leadership that he was not interested in accepting the government whip post.
Apparently realizing that trouble is brewing in the party, TRS working president K T Rama Rao plunged into action and talked to each of them individually. He assured that all their interests would be taken care of.
At the same time, he also warned them that if they make any attempt to jump into the BJP, their assembly membership would be cancelled automatically and the government would also open cases against them for their past corrupt activities.
As a result, the MLAs like Jogu Ramanna, Bajireddy and T Rajaiah, besides Jupally held a press conference and denied the reports of their defection to the BJP. However, others like Mynampalli are yet to fall in line, according to latest reports.
