Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Saturday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre and Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the state for adopting anti-farmer policies.
Addressing a rally of turmeric farmers in Armoor in Nizamabad district, Revanth offered to make all arrangements if the turmeric farmers wish to hold a protest in the national capital at Jantar Mantar or any other place to pressurise the Centre for establishment of turmeric board.
He described the BJP as Bharatiya Jhoota Party.
"There are three liars in the Telangana BJP who cheated the turmeric farmers of Nizamabad – Ram Madhav, D Arvind and Bandi Sanjay. They promised to set up a Turmeric Board and provide MSP for red jowar, but forgot the promise after the Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
The Congerss MP said that both BJP and TRS were sides of the same coin. While both the parties enact the drama of rivalry, they cover up each other's sins by raising questions about failures.
“The TRS never questioned BJP for its failures. Similarly, the BJP never questioned the failures of TRS government in giving compensation to the farmers who lost their crops spread across 25 lakh acres due to unseasonal rains and floods. Similarly, BJP leaders are silent on the decision of KCR Govt to shut down procurement centres for paddy and other crops,” he said.
