On Sunday, BJP's Kamareddy MLA, Katipally Venkataramana Reddy, expressed his ambition to become the Chief Minister of Telangana state by 2028.
"I have a concrete plan to achieve this objective. I had pledged to exit politics if I failed to secure victory in the Kamareddy Assembly seat during the 2023 elections. Despite competing against prominent figures like the then-Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his successor A. Revanth Reddy, I emerged victorious," he stated.
Venkataramana Reddy, who defeated KCR, criticized Kamareddy district officials for extending invitations to government adviser Mohd Ali Shabbir for official events.
A viral video on Sunday captured him declaring his intention to appoint his girlfriend as a government adviser with Cabinet rank once he assumes the position of Chief Minister.
Asserting his commitment to fostering a corruption-free environment in Kamareddy, he emphasized the importance of integrity among officials in the district.
"I will honor upright officers and simultaneously expel corrupt individuals," he affirmed.
