On March 9, a tragic jet ski accident in Florida claimed the life of Venkataramana Pittala, a 27-year-old student from Telangana studying in the US.
The incident occurred around 12:30 pm at Fury Playground near Wisteria Island, involving a collision between two jet skis, as reported by Local 10, a television station in Florida. Fortunately, the other jet ski operator, a teenager, escaped unharmed.
Hailing from Kazipet, Pittala was pursuing his Masters at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and was set to graduate in May this year.
In response to the tragedy, Pittala's friends have launched a "gofundme" campaign to raise funds to repatriate his body to India for the final rites.
