Journalist-turned-Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna, known for his controversial comments, has been creating tremors in the party, attacking the upper caste leaders and calling for making a Backward Classes leader as the chief minister of Telangana.
In a recent interview to a television channel, Mallanna lashed out at the Congress party for ignoring the BCs. He declared that Revanth Reddy would be the last OC (Other Caste) chief minister of Telangana.
He also found fault with the latest caste survey conducted by the Revanth Reddy government and said it was completely flawed and a fraud.
He claimed that 90% of Telangana’s population belongs to SC, ST, minorities, or BC communities.
Irked over Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna's comments, Yadadri Bhongir MLA Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy said the MLC was crossing his limits and assured that the party leadership would initiate action.
Taking serious objection to the MLC's comments, the MLA said that Mallanna should bear in mind that all the Congress leaders in Nalgonda had worked hard for his victory. Cutting across caste and religion, all leaders spent their personal money to ensure his victory in the MLC elections.
“Forgetting this, the Congress MLC is deliberately targeting one particular community,” Anil Kumar Reddy said, adding that any indiscipline and raising voice against party decisions will not be tolerated.
Earlier, Teenmaar Mallanna pointed out that in every state across India, the BC population is not less than 50%. He said the government’s survey is different from what Rahul Gandhi is stating.
“The survey results show something else. Our leader says one thing, but what is happening here is something different—this is fake. Though it is being called a survey, it was not conducted comprehensively," he said.
He said only a BC government that can carry out an honest survey.
“Until 2028, the demand for a BC chief minister will persist. It is clear that the next chief minister will definitely be from the BC community," Mallanna declared.
