After YSR Congress party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy lost power to the Telugu Desam Party-led National Democratic Alliance government in the last assembly elections, many of the party’s senior leaders have not been seen anywhere near the Tadepalli camp office.
Seniors like V Vijay Sai Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Y V Subba Reddy, who were calling shots in the party when it was in power, have not been visible regularly in the party office.
Initially, these leaders marked their presence in the Tadepalli office, but subsequently, they have stopped coming to the office regularly.
On and off, leaders like Sajjala and Sai Reddy were noticed in the meetings conducted by Jagan, but after that they were hardly visible.
But at least Sai Reddy and a couple of others are regularly reacting to the developments on social media, while other party leaders are issuing statements and speaking to reporters.
One person who has almost become invisible is Rajya Sabha member Y V Subba Reddy. He has not been giving any statements nor is he reacting on social media.
Even when two of his Rajya Sabha colleagues Beeda Mastan Rao and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana resigned from the party, Subba Reddy did not react.
A few MPs like Sai Reddy, Meda Raghunath Reddy, R Krishnaiah and Pilli Subhash Chandrabose issued statements saying that they would not quit the party and the RS membership, but would remain loyal to the party. Yet, Subba Reddy did not make any such statement.
Sources said Subba Reddy has decided to keep away from the routine party activities and focus on his business activities.
“He won’t quit the party or the RS membership, but will not be very active in the party, at least till the next elections,” sources said.
