Despite the half-hearted denials and vague statements by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and sacked health minister Eatala Rajender, it appears to be more or less certain that he would be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
It was evident from the meeting convened by BJP national president J P Nadda with the party’s Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay and others through virtual mode on Thursday afternoon.
During the meeting, Nadda gave a green signal to the state party to admit Rajender and others into the BJP. The date of his entry would be decided in a couple of days.
“The line is clear. Very shortly, Rajender will be joining the BJP,” Sanjay said after the meeting.
Once Nadda fixes the appointment, Rajender is expected to go to New Delhi and formally join the BJP. Former MLA from Yellareddy Enugu Ravinder Reddy is also expected to join the BJP along with Rajender.
Rajender had held hectic deliberations with the senior BJP leaders including Union minister Kishan Reddy, BJP in-charge of Telangana Tarun Chugh and former MP G Vivek. They reportedly convinced him to join the BJP and even made them a bumper offer.
After making up his mind, Rajender is understood to have politely rejected the requests of the Congress party and also leaders like Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Kodandaram to float a new political party in the state.
He reportedly told them that he had already taken a decision which he would disclose in a day or two.
