Sharmila to field unemployed youth in Huzurabad

Sharmila to field unemployed youth in Huzurabad

With the Election Commission of India on Tuesday announcing the schedule for the conduct of by-elections to Huzurabad assembly seat, political atmosphere in Telangana has suddenly been heated up.

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its rival Bharatiya Janata Party, which have already been in the campaign mode for quite some time, have intensified their efforts to win the Huzurabad seat. The Congress party, which has little stakes in Huzurabad by-poll, is yet to finalise its candidate.

Bahujan Samaj Party which got strengthened by the joining of Dalit IPS officer R S Praveen Kumar after his voluntary retirement, has not yet come out with any decision on fielding its candidate.

On the other hand, newly-formed YSR Telangana Party floated by Y S Sharmila, sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has already announced that it won’t contest the Huzurabad by-poll, as it is a fight between two ego-centric persons.

However, Sharmila came up with an announcement that she would field a batch of unemployed youth in the by-poll to teach a lesson to TRS led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

So, within hours of the EC announcing the election schedule, YSRTP leader Bomma Bhaskar Reddy issued a statement, stating that the TRS government’s indifferent attitude in filling up thousands of job vacancies has led to suicides by hundreds of unemployed youth.

Bhaskar Reddy said YSRTP president Sharmila had decided to expose the failures of KCR by fielding large number of nominations in the Huzurabad by-poll to attract the attention of the nation.

So, the party sought applications from candidates, including the unemployed youth, student leaders and other youth, who are interested in contesting the Huzurabad by-poll. The YSRTP will pay for the nominations to be filed by the unemployed youth in the by-poll.
