Sharmila To Do 'Odarpu Yatra' In KCR Bastion!

After keeping silent for over two months, Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, is going to be back in action from Wednesday.

Sharmila has announced that she would be touring Gajwel in Siddipet district on Wednesday to call the families of the unemployed youth who had committed suicide due to lack of job opportunities.

Gajwel is the assembly constituency of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

By deciding to conduct a virtual “Odarpu Yatra” (tour to console the bereaved families) in KCR’s bastion, Sharmila wants to send a message that she is ready to take on the TRS chief.

According to her party leaders, Sharmila will pay homage to the Telangana martyrs at their memorial at Gunpark in front of the state assembly and then leave for Gajwel. Her followers are making all arrangements for her visit.

This is the first tour of Sharmila in Telangana, after the massive public meeting at Khammam on April 9. And she has chosen June 2 as the date to get back into action because it happens to be Telangana formation day.

Apparently, Sharmila wants to tell the people that even after its formation seven years ago, Telangana continues to witness the unemployment and suicides by the youth. This will naturally embarrass the chief minister on his own home turf.

After the Khammam rally followed by her “deeksha” at Indira Park in Hyderabad demanding filling up of jobs in Telangana and getting arrested by the police at Tank Bund, Sharmila has suddenly become silent. She had not been holding any meetings with party leaders since then due to Covid-19.

Except an occasional tweet, Sharmila has also not been in media focus. But since the launch date of the party – July 8, is fast approaching, Sharmila seesm to have decided to get back into the news with direct approach to the people.
