Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh, who has been silent after announcing the launch of her political party in Telangana with a lot of fanfare at a public meeting in Khammam in March, is now trying to get back into the people.
Though Sharmila has been occasionally tweeting criticising the inept handling of Covid-19 situation in Telangana but she has not been getting much response from the people. Apparently, she has realised that she has been losing recognition among the people.
So, Sharmila came up with a programme to help the people affected by Covid-19 so that she would get back into the media limelight.
The programme – “Apadalo Thoduga YSSR,” which is aimed at extending financial assistance to women who are hardly hit by the Coronavirus pandemic.
She said the Coronavirus had ruined the lives of lakhs of people and many families had lost their heads earning bread and butter. Several women landed in despair due to lack of livelihood.
“I will do my best to come to their rescue by extending them some financial assistance,” she said.
Sharmila released a poster saying that anybody who lost their earning member could approach her by calling on 040-48213268.
“I know the pain being felt by how mothers, sisters and daughters who lost their family members due to Coronavirus. We cannot bring them back to life. But I would like to share their agony at least to some extent,” she said.
Stating that they were all the family members of her father YSR, Sharmila said she would like to extend some financial assistance to some extent so that they could stand on their feet.
“Anybody who want the financial assistance can approach me on the said phone number,” she added.
