Shah called up Naidu, regretted not meeting him?

Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday claimed that Union home minister Amit Shah personally called party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the afternoon and expressed regrets for not able to meet him in Delhi on Tuesday.

The claim comes within a couple of hours of YSR Congress party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy ridiculing Naidu for creating a drama in New Delhi in the name of meeting top Central leaders, but failing to get their appointment.

Sai Reddy wondered whether Naidu wanted to meet Amit Shah to show the video of the TDP workers attacking the latter’s convoy during his visit to Tirupati in 2018.

“Or did he want to show the videos of party spokesman Pattabhi making vulgar comments against chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy?” he asked.

Soon after the media telecast Sai Reddy’s comments, pro-TDP media came up with the claim of TDP leaders that Amit Shah had called up Naidu and enquired about what had happened in Andhra Pradesh last week.

According to these reports, Shah said he could not give the appointment to Naidu as he got delayed in returning from Jammu and Kashmir and soon after his return, he had to attend the council of ministers’ meeting. He told Naidu that he would like to meet the latter at some other time.

The Union home minister enquired about the purpose of Naidu’s visit to Delhi and the latter explained in detail what he wanted to represent.

“The TDP chief said he would send a copy of the representation given to the President of India Ramnath Kovind along with all the evidences to prove the highhanded behaviour of the YSRC,” the TDP leaders claimed.
