The YSRCP government in the state has landed in an embarassng position following the aggressive attacks by the Hindutva groups and BJP in the last few days.
The state government has come under attack on the YSR Congress party government over a series of attacks on temples, burning of chariots and the controversial statement by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams chairman over declaration by non-Hindus.
With the issue turning more complicated following controversial statements by ministers like Kodali Nani, chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has looked up to Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham seer Swamy Swaroopanandendra to do the damage control.
Following the instructions from Jagan, state ministers Vellampalli Srinivas and ministers Sriranganatha Raju, along with AP Brahmin Corporation chairman Malladi Vishnu and endowments commissioner went to Visakha Sarada Peetham and sought the help of Swaroopanandendra to resolve the crisis.
Apart from giving suggestions on how to calm down the Hindutva groups, the Swamiji advised the government to immediately appoint an Aagama Advisory Council with Swamijis belonging to six Agama sastras to clear the doubts of the Hindu devotees over the traditions to be followed in temples.
He said the burning of chariots at Bitragunta and Antarvedi temples were a bad omen for the government and therefore, the Jagan government should take up homams as a penance.
He also told the government to build a bigger and more attractive chariot for Antarvedi temple. He suggested that strong and quality teak wood be used to build the new chariot.
Swaroopanandendra also reportedly told the ministers to focus on recovery of lands of Antarvedi temple which were encroached in the past.
