It appears firebrand Congress leader and Malkajgiri MP Anumula Revanth Reddy is getting gradually isolated in the party, as Congress leaders believed to be close to him are deserting the party for good and looking for greener pastures.
The other day, senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Srisailam had been associated with Revanth Reddy right from their hey days in the Telugu Desam Party.
Srisailam might have thought he would get some good position if Revanth becomes the PCC chief. But with the chances of Revanth to become the PCC turning bleak, Srisailam quickly decided to join the BJP for a better future.
Similarly, Youth Congress leader Ravi Kumar Yadav from Sherilingampally, who was also associated with Revanth Reddy, resigned from the Congress recently and joined the BJP.
Now, with Y S Sharmila, daughter of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, all set to launch a new political party, more Congress leaders from the camp of Revanth Reddy are said to be looking towards her, as they feel there is no future for them in the Congress.
On Wednesday, senior leader and TPCC official spokesperson Indira Shobhan Goud announced her resignation from the party and met Sharmila at her residence in the afternoon.
She said she would be joining the new political party to be floated by Sharmila.
Stating that she was very much pained at the attitude of some senior Congress leaders, Indira Shobhan said there was no respect to women leaders in the party.
“I see some ray of hope in the political party to be floated by Sharmila. I shall disclose in detail what my role could be in the coming days,” Indira said.
