Revanth will join BJP with MLAs after LS polls

Revanth will join BJP with MLAs after LS polls

Bharat Rashtra Samithi's (BRS) working president, KT Rama Rao (KTR), asserted during a public rally for the Lok Sabha elections that Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy and several Congress MLAs would join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the polls.

Speaking at a campaign event for the BRS, KTR questioned Revanth Reddy's allegiance, suggesting a potential switch to the BJP.

He stated, "Who does Revanth Reddy serve? Is it Modi's agenda or Rahul Gandhi's? Mark my words, after the parliamentary elections, a significant defection wave will occur. Revanth Reddy will lead the exodus to the BJP, along with approximately 25 to 30 MLAs," claimed the former Telangana IT minister.

While there is currently no concrete indication of defections within the Congress, the party's stability rests on a delicate balance. In the previous November 30 Assembly elections, the Congress secured 64 out of 119 seats, while the BRS trailed with only 39 seats.

Since then, approximately three BRS MLAs have formally switched allegiance to the Congress, including Khairatabad BRS legislator Danam Nagender, who subsequently became the Congress candidate for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat.

Despite these developments, rumors swirl within the political landscape, suggesting that the BJP might exploit internal discord within the ruling Telangana party to induce defections.

KTR's assertions are likely to provoke a strong response from the Congress, and it remains to be seen how Revanth Reddy will react to these claims.
