In yet another step towards in improving the governance in Telangana, chief minister A Revanth Reddy is learnt to have decided to constitute a state-level advisory board to assist him in taking crucial policy decisions in the coming days.
According to reports, the Telangana State Advisory Council will be headed by Revanth Reddy himself and will comprise intellectuals from different walks of life to guide him in formulating the policies.
Some of the names that are being heard as members of the advisory council are: R S Praveen Kumar, Akunuri Murali, Professor Haragopal, Prof Nageshwar and K Ramachandra Murthy etc.
Apart from making suggestions to the government on various policy matters, the advisory council will also oversee the functioning of International Schools, to be set up by the government in every mandal, as promised by the Congress as part of its six guarantees.
The International Schools will be on the lines of SC/ST Gurkulams, providing international curriculum to the students.
The advisory council will operate from one of the buildings of Praja Bhavan, in association with Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Institute for Policy Studies, Research on Social Justice will also be operating, sources said.
“Instead of appointing a number of advisors to the government, the chief minister wants this advisory council to take up a broader job of advising the government on various issues,” sources added.
