It is a known fact that Bharat Rashtra Samith president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao performs various yagams and homams regularly to sustain his political power and also for good health.
Before every election, he performs Chandi Yagam seeking divine blessings for his party’s victory. He also does Sudershana Yagam to ward off evil forces in his path.
After coming to power, he performed Raja Shyamala Yagam to sustain power. And if there are any health issues, he performs Maha Mruthyunjaya Homam.
Many believe that it is the divine power, which has helped KCR come to power twice and also consolidate his power for such a long time. So, his party leaders, including ministers and MLAs, too, have started following him by performing yagnams and homams in their respective constituencies.
Now, even Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy, too, seems to have decided to follow the path of KCR to bring his party to power in the coming elections.
Revanth, who is making all out efforts to become the next chief minister of Telangana, performed Chandiyagam on Friday in his home constituency Kodangal along with his family members.
He, along with his wife Geetha, daughter Nymisha and son-in-law G Satyanarayana Reddy, took part in the Purnahuti programme on last day of the three-day event held at his residence.
The TPCC chief, who was elected as MLA from Kodangal thrice in 2004, 2009, and 2014, has applied to represent the constituency again.
Apparently, his family purohits have advised Revanth to perform Chandi Yagam, which would help him come to power. They told him that KCR, too, had performed the same yagam before 2014 elections and that brought him victory in the new state.
Speaking to reporters later, Revanth Reddy said that he had performed the yagam for the well-being of the people of Kodangal as well as Telangana and had prayed to God to bring a pro-people government in Telangana after the Assembly polls.
He said that he had prayed for freedom, equality, and inclusive development for the people. He hoped that the Chandiyagam would bring good days for the state.
Revanth Reddy added that he had achieved this position in politics due to the blessings of the people of Kondagal.
In July, BRS legislator from Tandur Pilot Rohit Reddy, too, performed Athi Rudra Mahayagam at his residence. So did minister for tribal welfare Satyavathi Rathod, who performed Chandi Yagam recently seeking divine blessings for her victory in the coming elections.
