As previously announced, the Congress government in Telangana, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has removed all traces of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government led by former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
On Friday, the government deleted all archives related to the previous BRS government and KCR from the official YouTube channels of the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office and the Information & Public Relations Department.
All videos and posts from the previous BRS government's tenure have been deleted, with no information provided regarding whether there is any backup of the data.
The deleted videos included content showcasing various landmarks of Telangana dating back to 2014, such as the Yadadri temple, the T-Hub, the new Secretariat, the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, the Kaleshwaram Project, and other symbols of the state’s progress over the last decade.
Supporters of the BRS on social media have criticized the actions of the Revanth government, stating that these channels contained not only information about KCR or the BRS but also highlighted the state’s growth over the past 10 years.
"It is unfortunate that the Congress government is attempting to erase everything done by the previous government," said a BRS leader.
Another social media user, Harish Jakkidi, expressed his discontent on X: "You can’t erase our pride. As we all know, @revanth_anumula stated earlier that he would leave no traces of the previous government!"
He added, "Action taken: All videos made by the previous government over the past ten years have been deleted from the official Telangana CMO and I&PR YouTube channels."
Jakkidi emphasized that Telangana's spirit and iconic landmarks like the Yadigiriguta temple, T-Hub, Secretariat, cable bridge, and Kaleshwaram project continue to stand as unshakable symbols of progress.
Former chairman of TSREDCO Y Satish Reddy criticized the move as the "childishness" of the Revanth Reddy government.
"The Congress Govt has removed all content from the last 10 years from the official I & PR and Telangana CMO YouTube Channels. 10 years of KCR Govt data is now vanished! Trying to hide all the good done showcases the ill mentality & childishness of Revanth’s Sarkar!" (sic) he posted on X.
