Decks seems to have been cleared for the entry of senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and former Lok Sabha member Gutha Sukhender Reddy into the cabinet of TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao soon.
KCR on Saturday cleared the name of Gutha as MLC candidate under MLAs’ quota. The former MP met the TRS supremo at Pragati Bhavan and expressed gratitude for announcing his name.
Later, the chief minister directed MLC Seri Subhash Reddy to provide assistance to Sukender in filing the nomination papers.
Once Gutha gets elected as MLC, according to party sources, he would be inducted into the cabinet along with a few others, including KCR’s son K T Rama Rao, nephew T Harish Rao, Maheshwaram MLA Sabita Indra Reddy and former minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao.
There were reports till recently that Gutha had been sulking for not being renominated as the MP candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
He had been made the convenor of state Rythu Samanvyana Samithi, which has no powers at all.
But KCR gave him an assurance that he would be made an MLC and taken into his cabinet. And he fulfilled his promise, much to the relief of Gutha.
