Reddy Offers 2,000 Acres Land to Woo Foxconn

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn to increase its investments in Telangana, particularly in emerging sectors such as electric vehicles and lithium battery manufacturing.

During a video conference with Foxconn Chairman Young Liu on Monday, the Chief Minister assured full government support and necessary infrastructure for the company’s expansion in the state.

Revanth Reddy, accompanied by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, visited Foxconn’s under-construction manufacturing facility at Kongarakalan on the city’s outskirts.

During the visit, the Chief Minister discussed the project's progress with Foxconn representatives and addressed key concerns.

He urged the company to expedite work and commence operations at the Kongarakalan facility ahead of the original May 2024 deadline, as agreed in the MoU signed in March 2023.

According to official sources, Revanth Reddy offered Foxconn 2,000 acres of land to establish a "Foxconn City," modeled after the company’s large-scale facilities in Taiwan and China.

This proposal comes amid stiff competition from neighboring states Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, which are also vying for Foxconn's investment.

Andhra Pradesh reportedly offered 2,500 acres for an industrial park, while Karnataka has proposed 300 acres for a supplier park.

Revanth Reddy’s proposal gives Foxconn the flexibility to develop the land according to its specific needs, potentially benefiting the company’s subsidiaries. A Foxconn team is expected to visit Telangana soon to evaluate the land for this ambitious project.

The Chief Minister’s vision is to replicate Foxconn’s massive Zhengzhou facility in China, which features residential dormitories, hospitals, entertainment amenities, and dedicated security, making it a self-sustained city.

This move is part of Revanth Reddy’s broader efforts to drive industrial growth in the state, with Foxconn playing a key role in achieving this goal.
