A "poster war" has taken over the streets of Hyderabad as the ruling Congress party and the opposition BRS share blows through eye-catching hoardings.
The battle began when the BRS party erected a provocative hoarding featuring a picture from the infamous "note-for-vote" scandal, in which Congress leader Revanth Reddy was caught in a sting operation. The hoarding bore the message, "Dear citizens, don't sell your vote."
The Congress party quickly hit back with a counter-hoarding. This one showcased a cheeky tagline- "Is it burning in your stomach with the new investments brought to the state? Use ENO."
The message is widely seen as a jibe at the BRS's criticism of Congress’s recent achievements.
The Congress government has been actively promoting its success at the World Economic Forum in Davos, claiming to have signed MoUs for a staggering Rs 1.78 lakh crore in investments for Hyderabad.
The hoarding's reference to "ENO" was a witty play on this, suggesting that BRS’s discomfort stems from the Congress’s development initiatives.
Meanwhile, netizens have joined the fray, pointing out the unintentional free publicity the ENO brand has received thanks to the exchange.
Social media users joked about the owner of ENO being the happiest person amidst this political sparring.
