Opinion: Sharmila's Suicidal Step With Paper Ad

"Enemy's enemy is friend". This is the age old adage but one should be aware of who else is becoming a new enemy by applying this formula. Andhra Jyothy is not an enemy just to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy but also to the majority of the Reddy community. It is an enemy to the people who admire YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It should be remembered that YSR used to lament how this daily has been creating problems to the government during his rule.

Today Sharmila has given a big advertisement to Andhra Jyothy much to the disgust of her vote bank. Yes, her vote bank is the community of Reddys and Christians in Telangana. The majority in both of these groups are loyal to either Sakshi or the local news papers like Velugu in Telangana. The ardent follower of YSR never subscribes for Andhra Jyothy.

So, despite its poor reach to the target voters, the placing of the Advertisement in this daily is nothing but Sharmila's attempt to irk the followers of YSRCP.

As of now the Reddy voters in Telangana are confused. They are not in mood to vote for Congress as Revanth Reddy, the PCC head is a shadow of CBN. This is the right time for Sharmila to pull their attention. But she is distancing them with this pro-Andhra Jyothy step.

Coming up as the daughter of YSR with a mission to establish Rajanna Rajyam, how can she encourage a daily that disturbed her father through out his rule?

The strategists behind Sharmila seem to be either directionless or doltish. They are taking suicidal path assuming it is an intelligent strategy. Connecting the electric wires in a right way is the only need of the hour before it becomes a short circuit. Hope Sharmila's team minds it.
