Andhra Jyothy managing director and journalist Vemuri Radhakrishna’s attempt to expose the rift within the family of YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has turned out to be a big failure.
Radhakrishna, who interviewed Jagan’s sister Y S Sharmila in his latest season of “Open Heart with RK” programme on Sunday night, made a desperate attempt to prove that all is not well within the family of Jagan because of the latter’s alleged dictatorial attitude.
He tried to grill Sharmila with a volley of questions, but she turned out to be too hard a nut to crack for him. She simply returned smile for every question posed by him to prove that she has difference with her brother.
And Radhakrishna himself had to put up an embarrassing face when Sharmila didn’t reply to his questions about Jagan.
“You seem to have become tough in politics,” he said and Sharmila replied: “I don’t have to talk much. I am not cut-out for such politics.”
On differences with Jagan, she said there were differences between siblings in every family.
“If I call your sisters and ask them whether they have any differences with you, do they deny?” she asked Radhakrishna.
She said there might be 100 issues on which she differed with her brother, but they were not too big to be resolved.
“Jagan Mohan Reddy is not the reason for my decision to launch a political party in Telangana,” she asserted.
She, however, said she felt bad when Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said she had nothing to do with the YSRC, but she did not attribute it to Jagan.
“If my brother had not said those words, I would be happy. After all brother is a brother, even if we have differences,” she said.
She reminded that she had worked hard more than my capacity for the political future of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“Why did I take up padayatra? It was because Jagan Mohan Reddy is my brother and it was my responsibility,” she said.
Radhakrishna also tried to put his words into her mouth saying she was not in talking terms with Jagan, as had happened at Idupulapaya recently.
“Who said? During the prayers at my father’s Samadhi, we generally don’t speak to each other or anybody. But me and Jagan talk to each other. Even today, he spoke to me over phone,” she said, snubbing Radhakrishna.
She also brushed aside the talk of Radhakrishna that she had disputes with her brother over properties. “I have my own properties, inherited from father,” she said with one sentence.
