Note-for-vote case: Ex-TDP MLA being grilled

With the elections to Andhra Pradesh state assembly less than three months away, the cash-for-vote case involving Telugu Desam Party chief and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his associates is back into focus.

Apparently, the Telangana government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have decided to take the case to a logical conclusion so that he could trouble Naidu before the elections.

Before that, he has to fix the role of former TDP legislators A Revanth Reddy and Vem Narender Reddy (who are presently in the Congress party) in the case, through which Naidu’s role could be proved.

As part of that, Narender Reddy appeared before the Enforcement Directorate officials on Tuesday in cash for vote scam.

The ED officials are quizzing Narender and his son at its Basheerbagh office since morning to dig out the case.

Earlier, the ED authorities issued notices to the Congress leader by going to his house at Gachibowli and ordered him to appear before them within a week.

It was during the election of Narender Reddy as an MLC in May 2015, Revanth Reddy had offered bribe to Nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson for voting in favour of the former.

He was caught red-handed with Rs 50 lakh cash by the Anti-Corruption Bureau authorities.

A case was registered against Revanth and Narender Reddy on May, 30, 2015. But till date, it has not made any breakthrough.

It remains to be seen whether the ED would be able to find out anything now.
