No Salary Hike For Telangana Staff This Month, Too!

No Salary Hike For Telangana Staff This Month, Too!

The euphoria generated by the Telangana government led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao among the state government employees by announcing 30 per cent hike in salary seems to have disappeared now.

The salary hike was announced by KCR in the state assembly in March and the employees were expected to get the same from the month of April to be paid in May. But that did not happen, as the authorities could not prepare the revised salary structure due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.

Though the structure was later worked out by the authorities, the file could not be placed before KCR for approval in April, as the chief minister suffered from Covid-19 and had been confined to his farm house at Erravalli in Siddipet district. He returned to Pragati Bhavan only in the first week of May.

Yet, the chief minister did not pay any attention to the revised pay scales issue, but has been busy with addressing the Covid-19 situation. The authorities also did not dare to remind KCR about the issue. As a result, it is still lying on the table of KCR in Pragati Bhavan.

Since the pay bills for all the employees will be prepared in the third week of every month, it appears there is no way the revised pay scales will be implemented even from June, as KCR has not given his approval to the file pertaining the salary hike.

So, the employees will have to wait for one more month, at least, to get their increased salaries!
