Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been hoping to play a major role in the national politics, seems to be in a state of confusion as to how to go about in building an anti-Bharatiya Janata Party front.
The leaders he has met or talked with so far – whether it was M K Stalin of Tamil Nadu, H D Deve Gowda of Karnataka, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray of Maharasthra or Hemanth Soren of Jharkhand – all have an understanding with the Congress party in one way or the other.
Only West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal are not very keen on having a tie-up with the Congress.
Even Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is also not against the Congress and he might take its support, if necessary, in forming the government in Uttar Pradesh.
So, on Friday, when KCR held a meeting with Jharkhand CM Hemanth Soren and his father Shibu Soren in Ranchi, he could not get clarity on the front to be floated with all like-minded parties without the Congress.
Speaking to reporters later, the TRS chief said his objective is to find a new direction to the country and his meeting with various leaders was only in that direction.
“We have made an attempt and we are holding discussions in this regard,” he said.
KCR, however, refused to talk about any alternative political front in the country.
“There is no such thing as anti-BJP front, anti-Congress front, third front or fourth front. No such front has been finalised so far. Maybe, in future, we shall get some clarity on this,” he said.
The chief minister said his efforts might not yield in a span of few days. It would take some time, as he was talking to various sections of people.
“When we all sit together, we shall find a way out. We can get a direction. We shall disclose in the coming days as to whether we shall form a front or any other forum to achieve our goal,” he said.
