Bharatiya Janata Party national leadership has decided against replacement of Karimnagar MP and firebrand leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar as the president of Telangana BJP, despite pressures from other leaders.
The party leadership took the decision after interacting with all the seniors and heard the version of Bandi.
Though there was a talk that he would be replaced by Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy, who commands more respect among the party leaders, no such thing has happened.
In fact, Kishan Reddy himself has clarified to the media that the party high command has no such thought of replacing Bandi Sanjay with any other leader as the Telangana BJP chief.
“The issue was neither discussed nor has the party any such thought,” Kishan Reddy said.
Stating that there is no confusion in the party on the Telangana BJP president, Kishan Reddy wondered how such reports were emanating.
“Only media has been spreading such rumours,” he said.
He also refuted the reports that there is a possibility of taking Sanjay into the Union cabinet and appoint some other leader as the state BJP chief.
“Some people are deliberately spreading such a talk,” he said.
Apparently, the BJP high command thought changing the BJP leader at this stage would create confusion among the cadre when the elections are due to be held in another four or five months.
“No changes will be made just before the elections,” Kishan Reddy said.
