Nadendla meets Purandeshwari: What's up?

With the elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly are fast approaching, the Jana Sena Party, which has already entered into an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party, is bringing pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party to take quick decision whether it wants to join the alliance or go it alone in the elections.

On Thursday evening, Jana Sena Party political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar met BJP state president Daggubati Purandeshwari and conveyed the message from his party president Pawan Kalyan about continuing the alliance.

He also met BJP national general secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash, who came to Vijayawada to meet the party core committee leaders to discuss the strategy for the upcoming elections.

“Nadendla also discussed the alliance issue with him,” Purandeshwari said.

According to party sources, Shiv Prakash and his core committee members collected the opinions of the state party leaders on how to go about in the elections besides the issue of joining the TDP-Jana Sena alliance.

Apparently, majority of the state BJP leaders, have expressed view that the party should have an alliance with the TDP and Jana Sena.

They told the national BJP secretary that already a message has gone into the people that the party has a secret understanding with YSR Congress party led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“In Telangana, too, the BJP suffered heavily, as the talk of the party having secret understanding with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, has gone deeply into the people, which ultimately helped the Congress. Such a situation should not arise in AP and the only way to avoid this is to join the TDP-Jana Sena alliance,” a BJP leader said.

Secondly, many BJP leaders wanted that the Centre should take a stern stand against the Jagan government and order inquiries into several irregularities, instead of being silent.

“The Centre has been liberally granting funds to AP and Jagan is misusing the same for his schemes,” they alleged.

Shiv Prakash reportedly asked the state BJP leaders to submit their views in writing and route it though the state party, so that the national BJP will take a call on the future strategies, sources added.
