Mothkupalli to head Dalit Bandhu Mission?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is going all out to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming by-elections to Huzurabad assembly seat, is taking out one weapon after the other from his arsenal.

After announcing implementation of Dalit Bandhu from Huzurabad from August 16 and declaring a BC candidate Gellu Srinivasa Yadav, to take on his former cabinet colleague Eatala Rajender, also a BC, the chief minister has now come out with yet another strategy.

He is planning to give a legal status to Dalit Bandhu scheme by introducing a legislation in the state assembly, so that nobody could challenge it in the court of law.

A special session of the state assembly is likely to be held shortly to pass a legislation on the scheme.

Simultaneously, KCR will announce the formation of a Dalit Bandhu Mission, which will be a statutory body after the passage of the legislation.

According to sources, he is planning to appoint former minister and Dalit leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu, who recently defected from BJP to TRS, as the chairman of the mission.

A notification is expected to come in a day or two in this regard.

This is expected to get tremendous mileage to the TRS in the Huzurabad by-elections. Mothkupalli, too, would take part in the election campaign vigorously to attract Dalit voters.

“This will be the last nail in Eatala Rajender’s coffin,” a TRS leader said.
