Modi writes to KCR, condoles sister death

In a sudden and unexpected development, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) released a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed to party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), expressing condolences on the passing of KCR’s sister, Cheeti Sakalamma.

The letter, dated February 1, was written a week after Sakalamma’s passing but was only made public by the BRS three days later, on Tuesday.

While it is not unusual for the Prime Minister to send condolence messages to political leaders on the loss of their family members, the length of the letter and the timing of its release to the media have raised eyebrows.

In his message, Modi expressed his grief and sadness over Sakalamma’s demise, stating: "Such a loss leaves a void that can never be filled. Deeply caring and sensitive, the warmth and kindness with which she nurtured and nourished the family will always remain etched in everyone's heart."

He further added: "A compassionate and empathetic person, Sakalamma will continue to live on in your memories and always hold a special place in everyone's heart. She will forever be remembered with affection and respect by all who knew her."

Modi also emphasized that the values she instilled would continue to inspire the family and that memories of time spent with her would provide solace and comfort during this difficult time.

"My heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with you and your family. May you find the strength and fortitude to endure this grievous loss," he concluded.
