Malkajgiri: A Gateway to Political Prominence

Malkajgiri: A Gateway to Political Prominence

What makes Malkajgiri so unique, whether it's the Assembly segment or the Lok Sabha constituency?

For candidates vying to contest from there, it's all about the potential opportunities that lie ahead. Since its establishment in 2009, becoming the largest constituency in the country, those who emerged victorious have often ascended to prominent positions in government, whether at the state or central level.

Sarvey Satyanarayana of the Congress, who won in 2009, went on to serve as a Union minister in the Dr. Manmohan Singh Cabinet.

In 2014, Ch. Malla Reddy, who won from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and later switched to the BRS, contested the Assembly polls while serving as an MP, emerged victorious, and became a minister in the KCR’s Cabinet.

In 2019, A. Revanth Reddy clinched victory in Malkajgiri and is currently serving as a Chief Minister.

Now, candidates like Etala Rajendar from the BJP, P. Sunitha Mahender Reddy from the Congress, and R. Laxma Reddy from the BRS are testing their luck in Malkajgiri, eyeing the potential opportunities it may bring.
