Senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and state minister for civil supplies Gangula Kamalakar on Tuesday brushed aside the allegations made by former health minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Eatala Rajender that a minister was trying to eliminate him using hired assassins.
Speaking to reporters, Gangula demanded that instead of making vague allegations, Rajender should disclose the name of the minister, who was trying to get him killed.
“He says he got the tip off from a former Naxalite. Who is he and which minister he was referring to? Rajender should name them,” he said.
Since Rajender is presently in the BJP, he should use his influence with the Central government and get an investigation done by the Central Bureau of Investigation or the National Investigation Agency into the murder plot.
“If, during the inquiry, my name surfaces, I will resign from the cabinet and face the trial in the case,” Gangula said.
The minister said nobody had any personal enmity with Rajender.
“He is just our political rival not an enemy. Who will get benefitted if he is killed? We all sincerely wish Rajender will live for 100 years. The government will provide him enough protection, if he has any threat perception,” he said.
Gangula said Rajender was only trying to gain sympathy from the people by making false against the TRS government, without naming the suspects.
“This is the KCR government. There won’t be any political murders in his rule. There will be only political suicides,” he clarified.
