Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and former MLA Putta Madhukar in Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, seems to have got the clean chit in connection with the murder of an advocate couple – Gattu Vaman Rao and P V Nagamani near Manthani in February.
He was arrested by the Ramagundam police from a hideout in Bhimavaram in West Godavari district early this month in connection with the murder case. After interrogating him for three days, the police let him off.
The police on Wednesday submitted the charge sheet in the advocate couple murder case to the court through online method because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
They named, in all seven persons, as the accused in the case, including Madhukar’s associate Kunta Srinu, his accomplice Chiranjeevi, Akkapaka Kumar, Madhukar’s nephew Bittu Srinu, Oodari Lachaiah, Kapu Anil and Vasanth Rao.
All of them are already in judicial remand and now, they would have to undergo the trial.
However, there is no mention of Madhukar’s name in the charge sheet, though Vaman Rao’s father Kishan Rao lodged a complaint with the state police, suspecting that Madhukar was the mastermind behind the murder.
The police apparently could not get any strong evidences to prove the involvement of Madhukar in the advocate murder case as he had stoutly denied all the charges of the police.
