KTR to lead ministerial team to Vizag on steel plant stir

Telangna Rashtra Samithi working president and state information technology minister K T Rama Rao may lead a team of his cabinet colleagues to Visakhapatnam soon to study the ongoing agitation against privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant.

KTR gave an assurance to this effect to former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party legislator Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who met the former in the Telangana state assembly on Saturday during the tea break.

It may be mentioned that the TRS working president had already extended his solidarity with the agitating workers of Vizag Steel Plant against the privatisation move. And Ganta tendered his resignation from his assembly seat from Visakhapatnam (north) in support of the agitation.

The former minister said he had met KTR to thank him for extending his support to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant JAC’s agitation.

“He has assured that he would soon visit Visakhapatnam, along with a team of ministers, to study the issue and take part in the agitation,” Ganta said.

Both the leaders reportedly held discussions over the latest political situation in Andhra Pradesh. Ganta told him that he would mobilise the support of all political parties for the employees agitating against steel plant privatisation.
