KK backtracks on talks with RTC staff!

Within a day of announcing that he was ready to hold talks with the striking employees and workers of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), Telangana Rashtra Samithi secretary general and Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao backtracked on his words.

Kesava Rao, who is also TRS parliamentary party leader, told reporters on Tuesday that he had never made any statement that he would hold talks with the RTC unions, if directed by KCR.

He said though he was ready to mediate between the state government and the RTC workers, he had never said he would hold talks on behalf of the government.

“The state government had not asked me to take up discussion with workers nor had I called the union leaders for talks,” he said.

Kesava Rao said he had only written to the RTC unions that If it benefits the workers, he would be ready to mediate.

“It is good the workers are positive for having conversations with me. I am trying to talk to the chief minister but I am yet to get in touch with him. I am a socialist, I will always be with workers and not with the State," said Keshava Rao.

The TRS leader also had suggestion to the employees. He said the employees should not quarrel among themselves, they should be united. He also said if government wanted to merge RTC, he would not have any objection.

However, he said the merger was impossible.

"I don't know what is the intention of the government. If that is known, the problem will get solved," said Rao.
