Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s comments at the party plenary on Monday that Andhra Pradesh was no match to Telangana in terms of development triggered heat in the ruling YSR Congress party in AP.
State minister for irrigation P Anil Kumar Yadav said there was no truth in the comments of KCR that Andhra Pradesh was far behind Telangana in development.
“In fact, compared to Telangana, more welfare schemes are being implemented in Andhra Pradesh. There is no need for AP to follow the Telangana schemes,” he said.
Anil Kumar also made it clear that there were no power cuts in Andhra as pointed out by KCR.
“We do have coal crisis, but it is not confined to AP alone, and it is a global phenomenon,” he said.
On KCR’s statement that many from Andhra Pradesh were requesting him to launch the TRS in Andhra Pradesh, the irrigation minister said there was no objection to anybody if KCR wants to launch his party in AP.
“If he wants, he can float TRS in Andhra. The people will decide its fate,” he said.
Anil Kumar said the TRS chief might have made such a statement in the party plenary only to play to the gallery as part of the TRS election stunt.
On Dalit Bandhu which KCR said no other state would dare to launch the scheme, the Andhra minister reminded that the scheme was grounded only in one assembly constituency going to polls in Telangana.
“It is not being implemented all over the state yet,” he pointed out.
