KCR wakes up from slumber, dreams of BRS 3.0

After being in a virtual hibernation for nearly nine months, Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have woken up from slumber and has started dreaming about returning to power again.

On Wednesday, KCR came out of his farmhouse at Erravelli in Siddipet district and stepped into the Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad after a long time to address the party state executive and senior leaders.

KCR directed party leaders and cadre to fight for the people, stating that the Congress government in the state has failed.

“We are coming back to power. This is going to be a 100% reality,” he said.

KCR spoke about the party’s long journey from its inception 25 years ago to the present. He detailed the struggles and efforts undertaken for the Telangana movement and its development.

"Only BRS can fight for Telangana. Only BRS understands the struggles of the people. The Telangana we fought for is going backwards. We must fight again with the spirit of 25 years to safeguard Telangana."

Outlining the party’s upcoming plans, KCR announced that silver jubilee celebrations of the party would be held throughout the year. A meeting of the party representatives will be held in Hyderabad on April 10. Sub-committees would be formed for the silver jubilee events, he said.

“The focus will now be on strengthening the party organizationally. A massive public meeting will be held on April 27. Membership drive will take place from April 10 to 27, followed by the formation of organizational committees,” he said, adding that party president elections will be conducted in October and November.

KCR stated that the political conditions are favourable and urged everyone to work hard to ensure the party’s victory in local elections. He emphasized that BRS is not a party that collapses after one defeat but a party that has endured struggles and achieved statehood.

He also confirmed that byelections are certain in the 10 constituencies where MLAs have defected. KCR pointed out that the government’s popularity is declining and that it will not recover.

He called for strengthening the party from the village level to the state level and working towards the party’s and the people’s long-term success.
