It has been more than two years since BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao threw out Etela Rajender from his party, leveling land grabbing charges.
However, KCR has failed to find a winning candidate in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency to defeat Etela Rajender.
After Etela joined BJP and forced a bypoll in Huzurabad in 2021, KCR did everything to defeat Etela but failed. He spent hundreds of crores of rupees in Huzurabad to defeat him.
He even introduced a new scheme called Dalit Bandhu, extending Rs 10 lakh to each Dalit family in Huzurabad to win the bypoll.
However, none of these tactics worked, and Etela emerged victorious. KCR suffered one of the worst humiliations in his political career at the hands of Etela Rajender.
With the Telangana Assembly polls nearing, KCR has once again launched a hunt to find a strong candidate to defeat Etela in Huzurabad. KCR wants to avenge the bypoll defeat at any cost.
Reportedly, KCR has zeroed in on police officer Pingali Prashanth Reddy, who is currently working as a DIG in the Telangana police intelligence department in Hyderabad.
Prashanth Reddy, who desires to enter active politics, had previously worked as a CI in Huzurabad and gained fame with his friendly policing measures.
Although KCR initially wanted to establish BRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy as an alternative to Etela in Huzurabad, it did not work out due to Kaushik's arrogance and controversial remarks.
His recent abuses of the Mudiraj community created a stir in political circles. The powerful Mudiraj community in Huzurabad has vowed to defeat him in the Assembly polls if KCR gives him a ticket.
Against this backdrop, KCR has found a suitable replacement for Kaushik in the form of Prashanth Reddy, as per the information received.
