Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might be appointed as Governor of a northern state, while his son and BRS working president K T Rama Rao will be inducted into the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This is the prediction of Telangana Congress president and chief minister A Revanth Reddy. He said the BRS leadership is seriously negotiating a deal with the Bharatiya Janata Party national leadership.
“If the deal works out, the BRS will be merged with the BJP, if not immediately but at least at a later stage. As part of the deal, KCR will be appointed as the Governor of a northern state and KTR will be nominated to Rajya Sabha to be inducted into the Narendra Modi cabinet,” he said.
The chief minister also predicted that KCR’s daughter and present MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha will also get released from jail as part of the understanding with the BJP. “She may also become a Rajya Sabha member later, as the present four RS members of the BRS will be merged with the BJP,” he said.
Back in Telangana, KCR’s nephew and former minister T Harish Rao will lead the BJP in the state assembly after the BRS MLAs merge with the BJP. “He will be nominated as the BJP legislature party leader and get the leader of opposition status,” he said.
In fact, the talk of the BRS-BJP merger has been going on in the state with a few media houses and social media groups have extensively spread the news about the same.
This has angered KTR, who served legal notices on these media houses, threatening to file defamation suites against them for spreading the false news.
But Revanth is firm on his prediction. “The BRS leaders might condemn these speculations or reports. But it is going to happen, if not immediately, but in the coming days, once the deal is finalised,” the chief minister said.
