Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement at the party plenary on Thursday that some of the party MLAs were indulging in corruption in programmes like Dalit Bandu and double bedroom housing scheme has landed him and the party in soup.
On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and also Enforcement Directorate seeking a probe into the chief minister’s statement on corrupt BRS MLAs.
In the complaint, BJP state general secretary G Premender Reddy said KCR’s statement was carried by all the prominent dailies in the state. He quoted the chief minister as warning that the corrupt MLAs would be thrown out.
“KCR said he has the list of MLAs who have been extorting up to Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries and 2BHK housing scheme beneficiaries. These are KCR’s flagship schemes involving thousands of crores of public money to benefit Dalits and home-less poor,” he said.
Reddy said the chief minister’s statement sent shock waves among the people.
“It needs enquiry and a thorough investigation by the investigation agencies since it involves thousands of crores of public money,” he said.
He said KCR also claimed to have the list of BRS MLAs who are involved in the corruption by extortion.
“As such, it is necessary to issue a notice under Section 91 of Cr PC to the chief minister to hand over the list of corrupt MLAs involved in extortion for the purpose of enquiry and investigation into the matter,” the BJP leader said.
