Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who got elected to the state assembly from Gajwel constituency, is unlikely to continue in the state politics.
He is learnt to have hinted to his party leaders that he would contest the Lok Sabha elections and move to New Delhi. He reportedly told his family members that he was looking for a suitable parliamentary constituency to contest.
According to party sources, KCR may contest from either Medak or Karimnagar LS constituency. But, his son and BRS working president K T Rama Rao suggested that it would be better KTR contest from Medak, as the party has won a good number of MLA seats in the district and the assembly segments under Medak LS constituency.
Even former minister and KCR’s nephew T Harish Rao expressed view that he should contest from Medak. He assured that he would personally take responsibility of getting him elected from Medak.
The Congress has apparently promised to give the ticket to former MP and actress M Vijayashanti from Medak. If KCR decides to enter fray from this constituency, it would be difficult for her to win the seat.
So, if KCR decides on Medak, the Congress is considering requesting Sonia Gandhi to contest from there. In that event, it would be the most prestigious battle in the state.
