With the Election Commission giving enough indications that the by-elections in Huzurabad assembly constituency might not be held at least for another two months, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has stepped up its activity to neutralise the influence of former health minister and BJP candidate Eatala Rajender.
According to analysts, the public meeting to be addressed by TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Huzurabad on August 16 is going to be the game-changer and will turn the tide towards the TRS.
Though the public meeting was actually meant on the occasion of launch of the pilot project of Dalit Bandhu scheme, KCR will definitely convert into an election rally.
“He may not directly attack Rajender but will definitely target the Bharatiya Janata Party in his typical style, apart from his explaining his government’s welfare schemes,” a TRS source said.
Already, the TRS chief pressed his trouble-shooter nephew T Harish Rao into action in Huzurabad. For the last few days, Harish Rao has been extensively touring the constituency along with another minister Gangula Kamalakar, launching various developmental programmes.
They are targeting Rajender for failing to develop the constituency despite being a minister in the TRS government for nearly seven years. While Harish Rao is focussing on attracting women voters, Gangula is concentrating on BC voters.
“With the launch of Dalit Bandhu by the chief minister on August 16, the Dalit voters will rally behind the TRS. And it will be the game changer in the ensuing elections,” the TRS source said.
