It looks like Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who lost power to the Congress party led by A Revanth Reddy in the just concluded assembly elections in Telangana, doesn’t like to be called “former chief minister.”
Within hours of the BRS losing the elections, KCR sent his resignation letter to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan through a messenger, instead of going to Raj Bhavan and submit his resignation letter gracefully.
He left for his farmhouse at Erravelli in Siddipet straightaway and within a couple of days, he suffered a fracture on his hip and got admitted to Yashoda Hospitals in Somajiguda, where he is undergoing treatment.
In the first two days of KCR relinquishing the office, the public relations representatives of the erstwhile chief minister’s office who were working with him started working for him personally and sending updates on him to the media.
They converted the erstwhile CM KCR Updates WhatsApp group into KCR Updates group and started sharing information about him to the media. Suddenly in the last two days, they changed the group’s name into TS 1st CM KCR updates.
It is not immediately known whether these PR managers of KCR got any instructions from him or his son K T Rama Rao, but the sudden change of the group’s name as TS 1st CM KCR updates raised many eyebrows.
Apparently, KCR doesn’t want to be referred to as former chief minister or ex-chief minister, but wants to go into the history as the first CM of Telangana. This looks silly, because whether KCR claims it or doesn’t claim it, nobody would disagree that he is the first CM.
It only shows KCR is still suffering from megalomania and he doesn’t want to accept the defeat so easily. That is not a good sign in democracy!
