Arogyasri, the scheme which provide free treatment to poor in corporate and private hospitals, has been stopped in Telangana from today.
Arogyasri, the brainchild of late CM YSR has become a boon to poor people as they could avail cashless treatment in private and corporate hospitals.
Despite change in CMs and governments and even bifurcation of state, the respective governments are continuing Arogyasri as it is very much helpful for poor.
But thanks to Telangana CM KCR's negligence in clearing bills amouting to nearly Rs 1500 crore to corporate and private hospitals even after repeated notices, the hospitals stopped Arogyasri services across the state in Telangana from today.
With this poor have been left to die in Telangana, if they face any health issues.
KCR too acknowledged the greatness of Arogyasri and even praised YSR in Telangana Legislative Assembly several times for implementing this scheme.
However, KCR has no seriousness or sincerity in implementing this scheme.
On one hand, he claims Telangana to be the 'richest state in India' and on the other hand the government has no funds to clear Arogyasri arrears.
The financial indiscipline of KCR has led to this situation where TS is reeling under huge debt burden despite being a 'revenue surplus' state.
