On Monday, the Election Commission rejected the nomination papers submitted by senior leader K. Jana Reddy for Nagarjunasagar on multiple grounds. Simultaneously, his son, has also submitted his papers.
According to sources, the returning officers had dismissed 625 out of 2,554 nominations by 9:15 pm on Monday. The remaining 2,388 nominations are still undergoing scrutiny by the ROs.
Despite an education qualification complaint filed against Ch. Malla Reddy, the returning officer (RO) accepted his two sets of nominations.
In the Medchal constituency, the RO rejected 46 nominations while accepting 81.
Karimnagar constituency witnessed the filing of 57 nominations, of which 10 have been processed, and the scrutiny process is ongoing.
The Quthbullapur seat had 11 rejections out of 50 nominations filed. In Nagarjunasagar, where 57 nominations were submitted, the RO rejected 13, including Jana Reddy's.
Interestingly, all 43 nominations were accepted in Sircilla, while in Alair, 12 out of 49 nominations were rejected.
In Amberpet, eight nominations were rejected. Andole constituency saw the RO rejecting one nomination and approving 37, whereas in Armoor, six nominations were rejected out of 43 filed.
In Asifabad, three nominations were rejected out of 33, and in Bahadurpura, out of the total 24 nominations, the RO rejected five.
In Dubbaka, eight out of 38 nominations were rejected, and in Charminar, out of the 31 nominations filed, nine were rejected.
In Mahbubnagar, where 43 nominations were filed, the RO rejected five nominations.
