It has already been decided that the new regional party to be launched by Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy is going to be called “YSR Telangana Party.”
The name has been approved by the Election Commission of India, as no objections were received from anybody objecting to the name.
Even YSR’s widow Y S Vijayamma also gave a no-objection letter to the ECI about her daughter using the name of YSR in the new political party.
However, the ECI would ask for the expansion of the abbreviation YSR in the political party.
According to the latest information, Sharmila has named the party as “Yuva Sakthi Rythurajyam Telangana Party (YSRTP),” representing the power of youth with an objective of heralding the farmers’ rule.
But strangely, the name of the party sounds like that of YSR Congress party headed by her brother and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. In his party, YSR represents – Yuvaja, Sramika and Rythu. Maybe, Sharmila also wants to take advantage of the same in Telangana.
The party colours of Sharmila’s new party are also said to be more or less similar to that of Jagan’s party. Party sources said it will have tinges of blue, white and green on the lines of YSRC.
Meanwhile, arrangements are being made for the launch of YSRTP on July 8. Party sources said the party launch would be done at JRC Convention Centre at Film Nagar in the presence of around a thousand party functionaries.
At the same time, nearly a lakh of people from all the districts of Telangana would witness the event virtually and endorse the launch of the party.
Sharmila is expected to announce her future course of action after the launch of the party.
